A different kind of Sound

The New Influx

For the past week I have realized how popular those that have good grades are with colleges. My online and physical mail boxes have been packed full with colleges from almost everywhere in the U.S.

The problem is:

-I want to stay within state.

-I want to go in for technical theatre, a major almost no one has.

So a lot has gone into the trash but today at school the CCU(Colorado Christian University) chamber choir and sang and their director was the same director that directed the Colorado Choral Select Choir which I participated in, and he is now one of the top director that I have ever had. I almost tempted to go to CCU just for the choir director, which I know sounds sad but hey he is just that awesome!

Other that college the only thing that is taking up all of my time is Grease and boy does it take up time. I am glad that I have not always been stage manager because it really takes it out of you. It is much much easier just doing sound or lights I swear. Stage manager I have to be there every night but when just doing sound I do not need to come in until a week before opening of the show.

Just for all of us introverts in the world I found another good reading from my favorite author’s blog.

Sleepless in Seattle

Yesterday was a much needed day. I got to sleep in till 8 then watched Sunday Morning and saw a 12 year old who has a spirit of someone much much older than herself. I only hope if I was ever in her shoes that I was able to do what she did.

Another amazing thing that I watched yesterday was a chick flick called Sleepless in Seattle, officially one of my thousands favorite movie ever. It just shows that even in the 90’s things were changing on how to date, and what is supposed to occur when dating. I am currently on how Tom Hanks says in that movie. It just gives me another reason not do date again until I graduate.  But hey you never know.

So tonight I took another personality test and this one has told me slightly different then what others have. Personally I believe this one a little more than the other that I took. The other said I was a IFNJ but that one seemed a little harsh for me personally so this one that I just received still starts with that I but it is ISFZ- introverting, sensing, feeling, and organizing.

Lastly my brother Lars has just introduced me to the most amazing orchestra ever!!

Thank God it is the Weekend

It has been a short week at school yet it seemed to go by really slowly. But today it ended by going out to eat in Carbondale at a local Italian place for the first time, and my Lord it was amazing!!

I had Tuna with an amazing fruit sauce, and for dessert a molten chocolate cake. No complaints about that for sure.

Other than that, life continues day by day, not much on my mind right now. So here with a short post.

Still Getting Used to This

After blogging, then stopping, and now starting again I still have to get used to blogging; even if only 3 days of the week….

Today was a truly exciting day for sure, way to many things happening at once. One of the major events was an assembly for the school in the afternoon on climate change. The best part was that the speaker gave me a really nice water bottle for doing sound and lights for him. So now my plan is to try put it to use….which is quite difficult for me to do so. The reason is that when I have the water there I constantly drink it and it ends up empty. Maybe keeping in my locker will fix that and during the passing period I can use it. It will definitely help with the major sounds events  that I am helping out with this summer.

Other than that today I was told something so bluntly that mad me so mad and made me so much more thankful for all of the teachers out there. I asked one of my new sound crew to turn off a secondary sound system in the high-school theater called the “Tie System” and she looked at me blankly. So after five minutes of her looking she came out asking what I was talking about and I shook my head and went back to do it myself and told to her that I showed her before and her comment just made me so so mad, ” I was not paying attention while you were teaching us about that.” So I had to yell back, “Then what is the point trying to teach you?” I understand .001% of what teachers receive from their students. God grant them peace.

Lastly I have just started a book called The Cider House Rules I do not know what to think about yet. I know that there is a movie out about it, but my problem is that the author loves to jump around consistently which can make it hard to follow. What I can not wait for is my next book to read which is currently in the hands of my mother VOYAGER!! I am so excited to read that it is the third of the Outlander series; a wonderful romantically historical fiction. If on the search for a good book look no further!

Back from an Exciting Weekend

That was truly relaxing too, I have forgot how nice it is to go away from everything but those closest to you, example my family, for at least one day. It twas an exceptional release but sadly tomorrow back to the daily grind of the schedule. I have already received the rehearsal schedule for this week from our director. It is going to be fun filled, that is for sure. Also it seems that the cast is excited to be there, at least for the current moment. Wait until February, then we shall see if there is true stamina; but it is Grease  so I understand their excitement.

Moving away from this life of mine, a present that I received for Christmas from a sister of mine is something called a Buddha Board and it is the coolest thing. It looks almost like a square journal but inside it a piece of board that you draw on with water and over time it evaporates and goes away. It is cool for I draw things that I bugging, or that I can not get out of my mind and it symbolizes that they are gone. It is to represent that we live in the present, which for me is one of the hardest things. Also on the front I got to choose to put a sticker and I think I chose the best one:

Another reading from another blog about loyalty . Read it, and may I hear your thoughts?

Off Skiing…No One Home!

Lately I have been having that feeling of being at someones whim. Currently I need a couple days of being “radio silent” thus the family is going up to our condo by the Sunlight Ski resort and going skiing tomorrow and getting home on Sunday. I am excited to be able to spend a good portion of this weekend up there.

Also this Friday was the last day of the semester, finally and I think I did quite fantastic, I hope to be having a complete A semester. Lets hope ehh?

Everyone have a great weekend.

Remember..Remember

Remember Remember the fifth of November the gunpowder treason in plot, I see no reason why this gunpowder treason should be forgot.

If you don’t recognize this poem it is from an excellent movie called: V for Vendetta. It is based in a future totalitarianism England. Wonderful movie by the way if you can see past the violence and big explosions. Another good quote is people should not fear their governments, governments should fear their people.

Another idea to think about is those moments when you feel exactly in the right place at the right time. Tonight I was thinking about that concept and how it affects me. For example I was sitting in a pizza parlor on a school day with a good friend of mine and suddenly a large wave of peace settled about me and I had this feeling. It is a cool feeling for sure, so try to look out for them.

Music of the Night

You know that feeling at about midnight when a feeling of peace settles into your bones? How about right after a hard week and a weekend of skiing and working is about to come about? Tonight is one of those nights.

Well other than excited for the skiing weekend there is not much else to say, so gutennacht!

A Day Late

Yes I realize that I am a day late for posting, but already life is coming up to get me. I am the stage manager for the high-school production of: Grease! Everyone is really excited and this show will be a hit I know. The entire town is already talking about the show and it is at the end of February.

You could almost call this new job as stage manager as a “promotion” from being the sound director. I am pretty excited to continue the show. Rehearsals started on Monday and yesterday was the first practice that the stage crew and I started recording blocking. This is the first time ever doing it but hey there is a fist for everything.

BUT that means that everyone needs to come to the show. It is the last weekend of February and the first weekend of March. It is going to be a blast, the Jeannie Miller Theater will be transformed into a mush “greasier” theater! I know bad, awful, pun.

What I enjoy about being the stage manager already is the fact that I am in the center of everything, one of the places that I enjoy in a working environment  but in a social not so much, reason because of being an introvert,  but I like being able to be the one that everyone relies on because I know I can do as I say I will do.

What is a Miracle

Here is a link a quick little reading that really touched me by my favorite author!

Act on!

A Switching of Hands

Have you ever felt those flutters in your stomach, but they weren’t good ones?

I believe they call this anxiety and I so do hate it. Tonight a previous girlfriend of mine is now in the hands of someone else, and I am getting a bunch of these bad butterflies. But as Gandalf says, “So do all that see such things but all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” So continue walking I shall:
